Safe patient transportation depends on more than moving a stretcher from one department to another. Caregivers need stable braking before transfer, suitable working height, protective side rails, controlled steering and secure patient support throughout the journey. The JH-OCT103 manual height adjustable patient transfer stretcher is designed around these everyday hospital transport requirements. It combines 560–860 mm mechanical height adjustment, a maximum load capacity of 300 kg, gas-spring assisted backrest adjustment, ABS lift-up side rails, central braking and a retractable fifth wheel. An oxygen cylinder holder, telescopic stainless steel IV pole and mattress with two safety straps further support patient transportation between hospital departments. The JH-OCT103 uses a manual crank mechanism to adjust the overall stretcher height from approximately 560 mm to 860 mm. The foldable stainless steel crank can be operated to raise or lower the patient platform according to the transfer situation. This mechanical design does not rely on an electric actuator for height adjustment. Different hospital beds and patient support surfaces may have different working heights. The adjustable platform allows caregivers to change the stretcher height before beginning an assisted patient transfer. Once the required position has been reached, the crank can be folded away to reduce interference during routine transportation. The JH-OCT103 has a specified maximum load capacity of 300 kg. For hospital buyers, load capacity is an important specification when selecting patient transport equipment for different patient groups. It should be considered together with the stretcher dimensions, platform configuration and intended clinical application. The backrest can be adjusted from a flat position to approximately 75° ±5° using a gas-spring assisted mechanism. The system is designed for convenient operation and allows the caregiver to adjust the back section with one hand. This provides a practical way to change the patient's upper-body position before, during or after hospital transportation. Two ABS lift-up side rails are installed on the stretcher. Each side rail measures approximately 1080 × 260 × 35 mm. When raised, the rails provide lateral protection around the patient platform during transportation. The side rail lowering mechanism incorporates gas-spring damping. This provides a more controlled lowering action when the rail is released. When closer access to the patient is required, caregivers can lower the rail before transfer or other patient-handling procedures. The supplied 20 mm mattress is equipped with two patient safety straps. When appropriately positioned and used, the straps provide additional patient restraint during transportation, complementing the protective function of the side rails. This combination is particularly useful when patients require additional support while being moved between clinical areas. The stretcher is equipped with four 150 mm central-control casters and a foot-operated central braking system. The caster specification includes wear-resistant, anti-entanglement construction together with protective dust covers. Before patient transfer or positioning begins, caregivers can operate the central braking system to secure the stretcher. After the patient is ready for transportation, the brake can be released and the stretcher returned to mobile operation. An independent central fifth wheel is incorporated into the stretcher chassis, with operating pedals positioned on both sides. When the fifth wheel is retracted, the stretcher can move freely on its main casters for turning and positioning. When the fifth wheel is engaged, it provides directional assistance to help the stretcher maintain a straighter forward path during transportation. The central fifth wheel also incorporates a spring damping mechanism, providing additional compliance when the stretcher moves across uneven surfaces. The patient platform is manufactured from molded ABS engineering plastic with a one-piece construction. Integrated handles are positioned around the four corners of the platform, providing additional gripping points for caregivers during stretcher positioning and transportation. The main stretcher frame is manufactured from welded carbon steel and finished with electrostatic powder coating. The longitudinal frame members use 50 × 30 × 2 mm rectangular hollow steel sections, while the triangular support components are formed from 2.5 mm cold-rolled steel plate. This structural configuration provides a solid mechanical foundation for the patient platform, height adjustment system and mobility chassis. An oxygen cylinder holder is positioned at the head end of the stretcher and is designed for an oxygen cylinder with a diameter of approximately 135 mm. This allows compatible oxygen equipment to remain with the patient when respiratory support is required during intra-hospital transportation. The stretcher includes a telescopic stainless steel IV pole for infusion support during patient transportation. Diagonal IV pole sockets are positioned at the head and foot ends, allowing the pole position to be selected according to the patient's care requirements. Position the stretcher beside the hospital bed, operate the central brake and use the manual crank to adjust the platform to the required working height. Lower the ABS side rail to create closer lateral access. Once the patient is correctly positioned, return the rail to its protective position and use the safety straps as appropriate. Release the central brake and select the required steering mode. Free caster movement supports turning and positioning, while the fifth wheel can be engaged when greater directional control is required. Engage the central brake before patient handling begins. The gas-spring assisted backrest can then be adjusted according to the required upper-body position. Model: JH-OCT103. Product Type: Manual Height Adjustable Patient Transfer Stretcher.
